Three quarter of a million passengers passed through Ireland West Airport Knock last year, 2017, and that’s the highest number ever in the airport’s history.

750,000 passengers is an increase of 2 percent on the previous year.

Speaking to Midwest News today Managing Director of the airport Joe Gilmore said they are delighted with the end of the year results saying its good news for the regional economy and for tourism.

The airport served 23 destinations in 2017, with much of the growth attributed to a strong performance on UK routes.

At the end of last year the airport began work on a 15 million euro , three year investment plan, which will see it overhaul its terminal and runway.
