Mayo County Council and Irish Water have been working to deal with water outages in the Kiltimagh area since last night, as a result of power outages during Storm Eleanor.

The latest update is that water supplies are being restored this evening in Kiltimagh town.

However, a number of surrounding areas will be without water until tomorrow, due to low levels in the Kiltimagh reservoir.

About 240 houses will be without water overnight in the areas of Treenkeel/Teanlaur, Carrick, Galboy, Bohola Road, Kilkelly Road and Balla road.

It is hoped that water supply will be restored to these areas between 9 am and 12 noon tomorrow.

An alternative Water Supply will be available overnight at the Supervalu Carpark in Kiltimagh.
