
Work is continuing to restore a normal public water supply to customers in the Kiltimagh area who have experienced disruption due to Storm Eleanor.
A temporary power supply was put in place to run the Kiltimagh Water Treatment Plant, and this is continuing to fill the reservoir supplying the area.
Irish Water says it’s expected that water supply will be restored over the coming hours to a number of areas, including Galboy, Bohola Road, Kilkelly Road and Balla Road.
Customers are asked to conserve water as much as possible until a normal supply can be restored.
Meanwhile, disruption to water supplies will continue in the Treenkeel/ Treanlaur and Carrick areas throughout the day, as networt repairs are needed in these areas.
Irish Water says it’s hoped to have a full service restored by evening.
A water tanker is still in place at the Supervalu carpark in Kiltimagh as an alternative source of water - customers are reminded to bring their own containers when taking water from the tanker, and to boil water before use as a precautionary measure.
Meanwhile, a normal water supply has now been restored to customers in Westport town who were experiencing disruption or low pressure since Tuesday night’s storm.
