Trains to and from Heuston Station have resumed following an earlier tragic incident on the line north of Sallins Station, attended by the emergency services.

Significant delays remain, but Irish Rail is working to reduce these. 

Delays to Galway and Westport trains in both directions are likely to continue for the day due to extensive single line sections, but priority will be given to trains from Dublin to Galway/Westport due to higher numbers travelling.

Customers should also note that the delay has resulted in many trains being out of position, so train sizes and capacity may differ from planned capacity.  We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause, and for the unavoidable disruption which has occurred today.
