There's good news on double today for Achill Island, with funding being announced for Tonragee National School, and for the Achill Experience. 

€24,000 is being allocated to complete safety works outside the primary school at Tonragee. 

Meanwhile €89,000 in LEADER funding has been approved for phase 2 of the Achill Experience. 

The aquarium is already attracting large numbers of visitors, and phase 2 will see the development of a Boley House in the visitors centre, to give visitors an insight into how families once lived and the history of Achill's Deserted Village.
