Very Reverend Fr. James Shryane,

Barnsley, South Yorkshire and formerly of New Street, Ballaghaderreen, Co. Roscommon - peacefully, in the early hours of Saturday, January 11th, 2025 in his sixtieth year of ministry in the priesthood.

Predeceased by his parents Edward and Nora and his brothers Tommy and Edward.

Sadly missed and remembered with love by his sisters Frances (Mullooly), Catherine (McDonnell) and Attracta (Butler), brothers-in-law Seamus, Michael and Martin, sister-in-law Eithne, his nephews, nieces, grand-nephews, grand-nieces, Bishop and Priests of the dioceses of Hallam and Achonry, his extended family, neighbours and many friends.

Requiescat In Pace.

Fr. James to be received into Holy Rood Church, Barnsley on Tuesday (February 11th) at 7.00pm.

Concelebrated Requiem Mass on Wednesday 11am.

Fr. James will repose in The Sharkey Funeral Home, Ballaghaderreen on Friday (February 14th) from 5pm until 7pm. Removal to St. Nathy’s Cathedral, Ballaghaderreen arriving at 7.30pm.

Concelebrated Mass of the Resurrection on Saturday at 12noon, followed by interment in Kilcolman cemetery.
