Vincent (Vinnie) Heraty,

Hopewell Junction, New York and formerly of Tiernacroagha, Westport - peacefully, at his home in Hopewell Junction, New York on November 21st 2024 after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Predeceased by his son Niall, parents Tim & Annie, brothers Desmond, Tony, Tommy, Timmy, John & Gerard, sisters Anne & Winnie.

Vincent will be sadly missed by his beloved wife Julie (nee Friel, Letterbrook), sons Conor & Ryan, daughter-in-law Sydney, siblings Paddy (Tiernacroagha), Mary (England), Petie (Boleybrian), Philomena (Killawalla), Michael (Tiernacroagha), Paul (Bohea) and Monica (Knappagh), sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews, relatives, neighbours and many friends.

MAY HIS SOUL REST IN PEACE.

Visitation will be held this Monday (Nov 25th) from 3:00pm until 8:00pm in McHoul's Funeral Home Inc, 895 Route 82 Hopewell Junction.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday (Nov 26th) at 10:00am in St. Columba's Church, 835 Route 82, Hopewell Junction followed by interment in St. Denis cemetery.

Vincent's Funeral Mass can be viewed live on www.mchoulfuneralhome.com on Tuesday (Nov 26th) at 3:00pm (GMT).

It is of great sadness to hear of the passing Vincent. Our Condolences to Julie, Conor, Ryan, the Heraty and Friel families. My memories of the Heraty family goes back over 50 years to that happy white washed cottage at the foot of Croaghpatrick. It was 1972 and I had just started working with the Department of Agriculture as Inspector. I called to the Heraty farm.
When I returned to my car after inspecting the cows and calves it was filled with happy smiling boys and girls. I am sure Vinnie was one of them. Such happy home and children.
My next meeting with Vinnie was when I filmed his wedding and marriage to Julie. Like many young couples of the 1980’s and 1990’s had emigrated to America.
Of the many weddings I filmed over the years I remember that happy day as I knew both families.
To Julie, Ryan, the Heraty family we are thinking of you at this sad time.
