Phil O'Connor nee Griffin,

Knockadoon, Irishtown - in her 93rd year after a short illness in Mayo University Hospital on July 22nd 2024.

Predeceased by her parents James and Mary, husband Jarlath, daughter Mary B, son Jimmy, sisters Kathleen, May, Peg, Pat and Anne.

Deeply missed by her sons Michael, Tony, Joe and Kenny, daughters-in-law Aoife, Cathy, Angela and Barbara, son-in-law Jimmy, her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and many friends.

May Phil Rest in Peace

Reposing in Carey's Funeral Home, Ballindine (F12A3C6) on Wednesday evening, 24th July from 6pm with removal at 8pm to the Church of the Holy Family, Irishtown.

Funeral Mass on Thursday at 1pm.

Burial afterwards in Irishtown Cemetery.

Funeral Mass will be live-streamed on Kilvine parish Facebook page.

I will miss Phil every single day. Such a strong role model who was a mother to many . I was one of the lucky ones whom got to be her daughter in law. Phil acceptance was evident from the moment we met over 18 years ago. We would have our little evening routine when I traveled back to my other home. Her hospitality was greatly appreciated. Her wisdom was a gift. Her love for her family was evident in how she lives her life. The door in knockadoon always made visitors feel welcomed and family always shared many memories around the table . A true treasure to all her knew her. To this day her brown bread can’t be beat and her coking had me in awe the way she was able to put a meal together . Her cooked carrots I can’t duplicate. She never was short of sweets either . Her faith kept her strong for so many. I know she is enjoying her reunion with those who left before her . Especially Jimmy , Mary , Jarlath and her sisters . Nana Phil will be in my heart forever.
