Brendan McGuire,

Kilsheelan, Clonmel, Co Tipperary and formerly of Cortoon, Killala, Co Mayo.

Predeceased by his parents John and Margaret and his brothers Gerry and Michael.

Brendan will be sadly missed by his beloved daughter Geraldine, grandchildren Áine and Meabh; his heartbroken family; brothers Patrick, Paul, Ray, Kevin, Vincent and David; sisters Mary, Ann, and Martina; his special friend Denise, brothers- and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

May he rest in peace.

Funeral leaving his brother Paul's house (F26 DY75) at 11:00am to St Patrick's church, Killala, on Sunday for Mass at 11:30am, followed by burial in Killala Cemetery.

Brendan and I shared many great childhood memories together playing football for Killala and Lacken Cross where we had so much success. Our days on the football field are among my most cherished memories, as Brendan was not just a teammate but a remarkable wing half back, whose speed, resilience and determination were unmatched. He always gave his best on the football field, inspiring us all with his commitment and passion. Brendan was a gentleman through and through, always embodying the spirit of our parish community with his kindness and skill. Brendan you will be forever remembered and missed by us all, may your kind and gentle soul rest in peace.
