Damian Broe,

Foxford, Co. Mayo and formerly of Aclare, Co. Sligo - died surrounded by his family on the 7th of May 2024, in Mayo University Hospital.

Deeply loved and forever cherished by his son Oissíne, daughter Sonachú, brother Dmitri and lifelong friend and partner Eibhlín O'Callaghan.

He will be missed by his close friends, AA community and the local community.

 "God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference."

Damian has donated his body to the Royal College of Surgeons.

Memorial for Damian taking place Thursday, 16th May at 3.30pm in Swinford Cultural Centre, Co. Mayo.

I first met Damian at the Ballina market and didn't know what to make of this cheeky man in a van but we quickly became friends. We worked alongside each other in the Ballina and Sligo markets and if I was having a bad day he'd just come over with a coffee and a smile. He always saw the positive in life, was always encouraging and always had time for a chat. My daughters dad is called Damian so we named him Damian 2. I wish to offer my condolences to his family and close friends. He was a very lovable, fun character who loved to laugh and was an absolute gem for those of us in the fellowship who cherished his wisdom and kind words. He will be missed in the rooms.
