Mary Maughan née Lawrence,

Riverdale Court, Knockthomas, Castlebar - peacefully on Wednesday, 1st May 2024, surrounded by her loving family at Mayo University Hospital, Castlebar.

Predeceased by her parents Michael and Kathleen Lawrence, her daughter Kathleen Lawrence (Rathbawn Avenue, Castlebar), her sister Annie and her brothers Michael and Martin.                                                 

She will be sadly missed by her loving husband Jimmy, her son Jimmy, her sisters Winnie, Kathleen & Bridget, her brothers Owen, Patrick and Bernie, son-in-law Bernard, her daughter-in-law Teresa, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, cousins, relatives and her many friends.

May her gentle soul rest in peace.

Mary will repose in Kilcoyne’s Funeral Home, Thomas Street, Castlebar, F23 HT38 on Friday evening, 3rd May 2024 from 4.00pm until 6.00pm with removal at 6.00pm to the Church of the Holy Rosary, Castlebar.

Funeral Mass in the Church of the Holy Rosary, Castlebar on Saturday, 4th May at 3.00pm.

Afterwards Mary will be laid to rest in the New Cemetery, Newport Road, Castlebar.

The Funeral Mass will be live-streamed on www.churchtv.ie/castlebar or can be listened to in Castlebar on the Castlebar Parish Radio 105.3FM

I have known Mary since her daughter Kathleen was born as we were in hospital together having babies, She would always make sure that someone would come and talk to me if i had no visitors. Mary was a lovely and friendly woman may she find eternal rest with her beloved daughter Kathleen who she missed so much since she died. Rest in peace Mary.
