Maureen Henry nee Ruane,

Drumsheen, Bonniconlon, Ballina, Co. Mayo - peacefully at Mayo University Hospital after a short illness.

Predeceased by her son Jonathan & brother Bernie.

Deeply mourned by her loving husband Joe, daughters Maureen, Kathleen, Allison, Finola, Siobhan and son John, brothers Noel & Kieron, sons-in-law, sisters-in-law, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, relatives and a large circle of friends.

Remains reposing at Gallaghers Funeral Home, Bonniconlon (F26 YOE7) on Wednesday evening from 7 o’clock with removal at 8.45 to the Church of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, Bonniconlon arriving at 9 o’clock.

Requiem Mass on Thursday at 12 noon with burial afterwards in Bonniconlon Cemetery.

It was with sadness I heard of the passing of Maureen Henry. She was closely associated with the country music scene in Ireland and had a fine knowledge of so many of the artists on the circuit over the years. She hosted twice weekly country shows on Cork Music Station (internet) over the last eight years and had a loyal following for those shows. Maureen always ensured that many of the lesser known acts got equal and fair promotion on her shows. She had a good ear for what followers of traditional country music love to hear.
