Stephen Hopkins,

Tawneyshane, Ross, Castlebar and late of Aras Attracta Swinford and The Sycamores, Castlebar.

Pre deceased by his parents Tom and Bridget and his brothers Tom and Jim and nephew John.

Deeply regretted by his loving brother Pat (Castlebar), sisters-in-law Breeda and Noreen, nephews, nieces, cousins, relatives, neighbours, his families and carers in Aras Attracta and The Sycamores.

Rest In Peace Stephen.

Stephen will repose at the Sycamores, Mount Gordon, Westport Road, Castlebar (Eircode F23 A5 62) on Tuesday evening from 5 o’clock until 7 o’clock.

Funeral to arrive to St. Michael's Church, Crimlin on Wednesday for 12 noon Mass.

Funeral afterwards to Castlebar old cemetery.

No flowers by request.

Uncle Stephen will always be part of our fondest memories growing up. Many summers were spent in Tawneyshane making hay, where Stephen would happily supervise from the sides. More recently, we visited him last summer in his home at the Sycamores. Surrounded by a wonderful team of carers, he lived as 'lord of the manor'. Feisty as ever, Stephen always had a story to tell and could put a smile on your face. Rest in peace Stephen.

So sorry to hear of the passing of Stephen. So many fond memories of Stephen calling to our house in derrylahan (paddy and Mary joe murray derrylahan) having a cup of tea and a cigarette and telling us that Mary joe was a cousin of his. We met him in castlebar last year around autumn time at mulroys on the breaffy Rd and at lough lannagh and we had lovely conversations. A lovely man who lived a lovely life.
