Martin (Martie Joe) Cleary,

Crosshill, Ballycroy, Co. Mayo - who died peacefully in his 95th year at the residence of his nephew Brendan and his wife Helen McGuire, Geesala on 31st January 2024.

Predeceased by his parents Denis and Mollie and by his sister Mary O’Boyle (Church Street, Crossmolina).

Deeply loved and missed by his sister Ann McGuire, his nieces Mary, Geraldine, Josephine, Denise and Ann, his nephew Brendan, Francis and Noel, grandnieces, grandnephews, cousins, relatives, neighbours and many friends.

May His Gentle Soul Rest in Peace.

Remains reposing at McDonnell’s Funeral Home, Belmullet on Friday evening from 5 o’clock until 7 o’clock and at his residence at Crosshill, Ballycroy (F28 CA49) on Saturday afternoon from 3 o’clock until 5 o’clock.

Funeral arriving at the Church of the Holy Family, Ballycroy on Sunday afternoon for Funeral Mass at 3 o’clock followed by burial in Ballycroy Cemetery.

Livestreaming of the Funeral Mass is available for viewing on McDonnell Funeral Directors Facebook page on Sunday at 3pm, with all other funeral services available for viewing at 9pm on Sunday evening.

I was very sad to hear of Marty's passing. He was my neighbour when I worked in Ballycroy Community Centre. He was a quiet gentleman man who often came into the centre on his return journey from his beloved Shean which was 4pm every day . In later years as his health declined his visits became more frequent. He enjoyed having a cuppa and a catch up with the lads in the centre. May his gentle soul rest in peace.
