Mary Connolly nee Corcoran

Claureen, Hollymount, Co. Mayo - peacefully at Galway University Hospital.

Predeceased by her parents Martin and Nora, brothers Michael and Joe.

Mary will be sadly missed by her loving husband Tom, son Michael, daughters Anne Devane (Claureen), Chris Gallagher (Scarduane), Helen Johal (London), Teresa Connolly (London), Patricia Shally (Belmont), Kathy Glesson (Claremorris), Bernie Adair (Kilbannon) and Geraldine Fallon (Kilconly), daughter-in-law, sons-in-law, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews, extended family, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Mary’s remains will repose at Gilligan’s Funeral Home, Market Square, Claremorris (F12YP74) from 5p.m. on Wednesday evening (1st November) until 7p.m.

Remains will arrive to The Church of the Immaculate Conception, Roundfort, Hollymount for Funeral Mass at 12 noon on Thursday (2nd November) with burial afterwards in Roundfort cemetery.

Funeral Mass will be streamed live on the Roundfort, Robeen and Carras facebook page

My cousin Mary was a teenager during the years in which our family escaped the post war privations of Manchester and travelled for a fortnight’s holiday on Mary’s family’s farm at Scarduane. Vivid are my sun-bathed memories of their hospitality, the farm, the animals and visiting many relatives and friends. Central to these are my memories of Mary: her perpetual smile which often erupted in laughter as she went about the day assisting her mother in the kitchen and on the farm and her grin when she spotted the English boys up to some devilment or other. Look down on us Mary and bless us from our Father’s house.
