Murrisk, Westport, Co. Mayo; native of Curraghfore, Manorhamilton, Co. Leitrim and formerly of New York & London (September 10th 2023) - at Mayo University Hospital.

Loving husband of Lorraine (née Walsh) and adoring dad to Croía.

Deeply mourned and loving remembered by his loving wife, daughter, brothers & sisters Christina, Michael, Bernadette, Patrick, Larry, Frances, Charlie, and Jenny, uncle Peter, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, cousins, extended Mc Dermott & Walsh families and a wide circle of friends.

May His Soul Rest In Peace.

Peter will lie in repose at his home Marino Lodge, Murrisk (F28 P6W8) on Wednesday (September 13th) from 4.30pm concluding at 7.30pm. 

Funeral arriving to St. Patrick's Church, Louisburgh on Thursday at 11.45am for 12 noon Mass of Christian Burial, followed by interment in Murrisk Abbey Cemetery.

House private please, outside of reposing times.

Family flowers only. Donations in lieu if desired to Mayo / Roscommon Hospice @ www.hospice.ie

This is shocking, sad, awful news.
We met on our first day at school in St Clare’s in 1976 and became great friends. I liked Peter. He was easy to like. We played football, went to the boxing club, school discos, usual stuff.
Over the years we caught up in London; Peter went to New York; later we met & he was thinking of going to Ireland; back home in Manor, we met in Raymond’s pub in Castle St; We chatted and caught up easily on all the news. I was always glad to see him. I never remember a cross word. Peter was easy to get on with.
Strong, tough and good natured, he met the world with a ready smile.
This year, Peter and I hit 60. And now This feels so wrong. Too soon by a mile!
Peter was a warm human being, a pleasure to know; We should have had him with us for years.
I’m extremely sorry that his wife Lorraine and daughter Croia and the Mc Dermott family are going through this.
I wanted to say ‘Goodbye’ Peter! Safe Home! I’ll chat you soon!
