Una Carroll née McDermott

Main Street, Castlerea, Co. Roscommon and Lurgan Park, Galway City, Co. Galway – 29th August 2023 - peacefully at Mayo University Hospital, Castlebar and previously in the loving care of the staff of Aras Mathair Phoil, Castlerea.

Predeceased by her husband Christy and infant grandson Colin.

Una will be sadly missed by her children Joseph, Dermot, Theresa, Christopher, Eileen, Siobhan and Alan, brother Sean, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, daughters-in-law Ann, Martina and Aisling, sons-in-law Mike, Jimmy and Robert, Dermot’s partner Lyndsey, sister-in-law Lily, nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, neighbours and friends.

May Her Gentle Soul Rest In Peace

Reposing at Gaynor’s Funeral Home, Castlerea on Thursday evening from 5 o’clock until 7 o’clock with removal afterwards to St. Patrick’s Church, Castlerea.

Mass of the Resurrection on Friday morning at 11 o’clock followed by burial in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.  

Una’s Funeral Mass will be live-streamed on Gaynor Funeral Directors Facebook page.

Family flowers only please. Donations if desired to The Patient Comfort Fund, Aras Mathair Phoil c/o Gaynor Funeral Directors.

She and her late husband Christy clearly taught them many of the values that have guided them on life's journey. I know from Chris and Joe that she was a very loyal listener to my shows on Midwest Radio over the last three decades. She radiated goodness and kindness and treated all people in the same way. Una came from a great generation of genuine people who were always there to lend a helping hand and who did so with a heart and half. Rest in peace, Una.
