Dermot P. Morris,

Ballinlough, Co. Roscommon and Limerick - peacefully following a short illness, surrounded by his beloved family in the care of the wonderful staff at the Galway Clinic on August 26th 2023.

Dermot is pre-deceased by his parents Mary and Gerry and his brother Kevin.

Deeply mourned by his loving wife Mary, cherished children Deirdre and Ciarán, adored grandchildren Caoimhe and Eadaoin and their Dad Julian. 

Dermot will be sadly missed by his sisters-in-law, his cousins, nieces, nephews, and a wide circle of neighbours, friends and colleagues.

May He Rest In Peace.

Reposing at McDonagh's Funeral Home, Castlerea on Sunday evening from 4pm until 6pm.

Funeral arriving to the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Ballinlough on Monday for Funeral Mass at 12 noon followed by burial in the local cemetery.

On my own behalf and that of the extended Carroll family I wish to offer our sincere condolences to Dermot’s wife Mary , his son Ciaran and daughter Deirdre and his grandchildren. Dermot’s untimely departure from this world is a real shock to those of us privileged to have made his acquaintance over his life time . The “ quiet man “ with a listening ear and sound advice given from the heart and mind is now gone , we will miss him terribly. He was much to many . The first time I saw Dermot Morris was in Croke park in the late 1980’s . I was told by someone in my company that there was a Ballinlough man on the pitch just before the throw in and indeed there was . Dermot Morris was accompanying the Bishop of Cashel and Emly ( Bishop Clifford ) to greet the Captain’s of the teams about to play .What a proud moment for Dermot and his family and Ballinlough , the rest is history and I got to know him well in his retirement years .
