Andy Lavin,

Castlebarnagh, Midfield, Swinford (5th March 2023) - peacefully in the exceptional care of all the staff in Blackrocks Nursing Home, Foxford.

Andy will be sadly missed by his brother Paddy (Foxford) and his wife Christina, niece Patricia, nephew Paul and his wife Jane, grand-nephew Jamie and grand-niece Holly, family circle and friends. 

Reposing in Campbell's Funeral Home, Swinford on Wednesday, 8th March from 5 o’clock until 7 o’clock.

Andy's Funeral Mass will take place in St. Joseph's Church, Midfield on Thursday, 9th March at 12 noon prior to burial in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Midfield.

Memories come flooding back. Cutting the hay with his tractor and bringing home the turf. Going with my Dad and he to see Ballinribe Ballina Balla and Ballaghaderreen as a child and many other places too. He told many a story and did a lot of work. He was interested in all types of farming and in people as well. He was able to laugh and enjoy a bit of fun also. On Sundays he used often bring Dad and myself to see towns and historic places in Mayo and also across the borders in Sligo and Galway and Roscommon. He used to reminisce about the olden days too and what his father did and the older people round about. He wanted to be a progressive farmer and he used a lot of farm machinery. He was one if the characters that peopled our childhood. People will remember his hat and his smile also. He had a unique laugh and a sardonic outlook on life at times. We will all miss him and May his soul rest in the peace of Christ with all the deceased members of his family. He enriched all our lives.
