It was with great sadness ilearned of George's passing. I had many conversations with him about my Granduncle Pat Sherlock and his daughters they were neighbours of his and he spoke highly of them which was lovely to hear. What a gentleman George was in every aspect of the word, a great loss to Ballaghaderreen and all of us who were lucky to have known him, may you rest in eternal peace George

Sincere condolences to all of George's family and friends on the sad passing of George. I have known George for years as he used to visit Ballina shopping. He bought a few pairs of running shoes off me. Such a genuine friendly man and I had the pleasure of visiting him many times in Spellmans and the nursing home. It was great to go for lunch with him and enjoy his company. He used to look forward to his sister's phone call every Saturday at 4.30 from New Mexico. He was very proud of all his family and always showed me photos of them. He once told me his grandmother was from Ardnaree in Ballina. God rest you George, I will miss our chats ,the world has lost a true gentleman. May your gentle soul rest in peace.
