Allan William Wright
Derrycreeve,  Islandeady,  Castlebar and formerly of England on Thursday 29th December  2022 - at his home peacefully surrounded by his family 

Predeceased by his parents Ernie Wright and Jean née McKenzie-Cassie.

Dearly loved husband of Juanita née Napier-Hughes  and loving father of Emma and Kate.

He will be sadly missed by his heartbroken  wife,  daughters and their families,  grandchildren Jack,  Edison and Dana,  his brother Steve, sister-in-law Anne,  his niece  Anna and his nephew James,  cousins,  neighbours and many friends.  He will also be missed by his beloved dog Mossy.

Allan was well known in Islandeady where he has lived for almost thirty years.  He endeared himself to all who came in contact with him. He was  legendarhis love of animals particularly his donkeys Dora and Jackson and his dog Mossy and his beloved dogs who have gone before him Toby,  Junior and Patch.  Allan  loved sport and he was a lifelong supporter of Liverpool Football Club.

Forever at rest.  Allan you will never walk alone.

Allan will lie in repose at his home in Derrycreeve,  Islandeady,  Castlebar  F23 TO29  on Sunday afternoon  January 1st 2023  from 2.00pm to 4.00pm.

Removal from his home on Monday 2nd January 2023 at 1.00pm,  arriving to Shannon Crematorium for committal service at 4.00pm.

Allan was a great man and meant so much to us and we have so many amazing and funny memories that we will cherish forever including our first tractor rides (and crashes), looking after the farm, the dressing up for our theatre shows and of course our leprechaun hunts!

Allan and I met at school 63 years ago and he has been a special friend to both my wife, Linda and I ever since. There were so many special moments throughout those years. We followed Liverpool FC at home and away. At school he was a great footballer playing for the school team and also selected for the county. I remember watching him playing for the county team at Marina Football Club and him waving to me as he walked on the pitch. We were so proud of him. We had great times playing football, golf, tennis and and dominoes, the latter being the only one I won so forever after he nicknamed me Dom. We shared letters for 20 yes. Allan reminiscing on his youthful days and we enjoyed writing poetry. His great sense of humour and his love for his family was evident in his writing. He looked forward to visits from Emma, Kate and his grandchildren. Linda and I will miss him so much but are lucky to have so many happy memories and to call him our friend. God bless Allan

Allan Wright has been a friend for 63 years. He amazed me by lifting his heavy newspaper carrier bike above his head. I cycled to his childhood home often and we laughed a lot. We had holidays and drank many pints. A few years after school we both decided to change our careers and became partners in a road haulage business. My health let me down and he continued with the lorry. We had so many setbacks and laughter. I loved my occasional visits to him and his family as they developed their home in Derrycreeve. I can only offer my deepest sympathy to Nita, Steve, his children, grandchildren and the people around him. I will miss him.
