Michael (Mickey) Grady

Fortaugustus, Castlerea, Co. Roscommon. December 22nd 2022, (peacefully) at Galway University Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Pre-deceased by his parents Patrick and Bridget, his brother and sisters. 

Michael (Mickie), loving husband of Teresa and father to Michelle (Corley, Navan), Terri (Mitchell, Castlebar), Patrick (Castlerea), Declan (Wicklow) and Denise (Carroll, Galway).

Sadly missed by his wife, daughters, sons, grandchildren Daniel, Aoibheann, Cleona and Charlie. Michael's sisters Philomena (Farren, Boston), Ena (Hannelly, Castlerea). Agnes (Costello, Castlerea) and Kathleen (Sullivan, Kerry). Daughter-in-law Lynn, sons-in-law Eamon, Sean and Shane. Sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, cousins, extended family, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at McDonagh's Funeral Home Castlerea, on Monday afternoon from 3 o'clock until 5 o'clock. 

Funeral arriving to the Church of the Immaculate Conception Ballinlough on Tuesday afternoon for Funeral Mass at 1 o'clock with burial afterwards in Teamhair cemetery.

In the interest of keeping everyone safe and at the request of the family we advise the wearing of face masks and to use hand sanitisers.

I wish to offer my sincere condolences to the Grady family on the passing of Mickey , especially to Mrs Grady and to his daughters , especially Denise and the two boys Patrick and Declan . I’ve known Mickey Grady most of my adult life , I’d see him most days in times gone by , as he made his way to the land at Carrick/ Coolatinny on his reliable David Brown or in his Mazda 323 ( later the Opel Astra ) and in more recent times as co’pilot with Patrick . We had many’s a chat about much that was going on in these challenging times and more Our last meeting was at the service station in Ballinlough not to long ago . So Mickey , you’ve fought the fight, the mission is over on this earth snd you’ve done a great job and it’s time to rest and see the world from a different galaxy . A pleasure to have known you .
