Fr. Míceál Hastings,

Derrymore, Drummin, Westport and Archdiocese of Dublin - on 25th November 2022.

Predeceased by his parents Michael Thady and Mary, infant sibling twins Liam Seosamh and Tadhg Máirtín, sisters Áine (Hayde), Maura (La Comfora), Peigí (McNally) and Maeve (Becker), brothers Liam, Tadhg, Seán and his beloved friend Joan Skelly, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law.

May his gentle soul rest in peace.

Fr. Míceál will be sadly missed by his sisters Sally and Brídjo, brother-in-law Richard, sister-in-law Lil, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends, Archbishop Dermot Farrell and brother priests.

Reposing in Navin's Funeral Home, Westport on Sunday, November 27th from 4pm with removal at 5pm to Drummin Church to arrive at 5.30pm.

Mass on Monday, November 28th at 12 noon with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

As the last surviving member of the 14 priests ordained in 1959 in Holy Cross College I wish to convey my deepest condolences to his dear surviving sisters & extended family on the death of Fr.Michael. Always with Michael family was so important. He spoke of you all with great love.I have been hearing of for 70 years! We were great buddies down through the years supporting each particularly through the turbulent years for the Church faithful. In latter years we became closer especially visiting Fr.Des Hogan his close friend that he called each night for a chat & Compline prayer. Micheal was a staunch man of faith, a truly devoted priest to the Church, so kind uplifting hospitable. He laboured hard in the Lord’s vineyard wherever he was placed. Micheal May the Lord bountifully as you rejoin our confreres in the glory of Heaven.
