Matthew (Mattie) Shiel

Morristown Estate, Newbridge, Kildare and formerly of Carrentample, Gurteen, Co. Sligo and Manchester, England - peacefully at Naas Hospital surrounded by his loving family .

Sadly missed by his loving wife Mary, daughters Catherine and Bernadette, sons-in-law John and Steve, grandsons Shane and Greg, sister Margaret, brothers and sisters in law, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends.

May Mattie Rest in Peace.

Reposing at Glennon’s Funeral Home, 32 Main Street, Newbridge on Sunday evening from 5pm with Rosary at 7pm.

Removal on Monday morning to arrive at Cill Mhuire Church, Newbridge for Requiem Mass at 10am.

Burial afterwards in St. Conleths Cemetery, Newbridge.

We all loved you Mattie, you were always so good to our family. Always ready to lend a helping hand with a big grin and joyful laughter. We had great times in Manchester. You and Mary went out of your way to get Rebecca and I from the airport that time for Mammy's funeral. Always ready to give people a ride when you saw that they needed one. I will never forget your kindness. You will be forever in our hearts. Mary/ Ralph/Joe/Heather and Rebecca.
