Fr. Gerald McNicholas (Columban Fathers),

Dalgan Park, Navan and formerly of Derryvohy, Balla and the Fijian Missions – peacefully. 

Funeral Mass in St. Columban's, Dalgan Park on Thursday morning at 11 o’clock followed by burial in the Community Cemetery.

Tom Murray College Green Claremorris
I had the priviledge of sitting beside Fr Gerald for Inter Cert in St Colman's College (Sept 56 to June 57). He was one of the most brilliant students to pass through St Colman's. When we did the Leaving Cert in June 59 he was awarded a University scholarship and the coveted 'call to training' -- but he choose the Columban Fathers instead. I send ny sincerest sympathy to his family - some of whom I met in the past. RIP Gerald.
