Ar dheis De go raibh a anam.
I have fond memories of the countless mornings Joe turned his bus at "Shannon's Rd." for the start of the school run across the mountain. I look today at the tight turn, and bad bend, and often wonder how he managed to swing the large coach there. He was a skillful driver along with being great "craic." He got along with and cared deeply for the comfort and safety for all the children who traveled to school with him over the many years.
I traveled to numerous football matches with Joe. Joe would always try to cheer up the bus if we had lost a game, and celebrate with us if we won. How he could concentrate while there was a group of 12 yr olds chanting & singing I will never know!
Then there was travel to Julians and Eyecatchers! Joe was there for it all!
RIP Joe. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.
Thinking of ye at the sad time
Sending our sincere condolences to Nancy and family and extended Lavin family’s

I have the fondest memories of Joe bringing my brother and I to school everyday. Many times I would be late for the bus, but Joe would always wait when he would see me coming, and greet me with a smile. He was true gentleman. May you rest in peace Joe.

Together with Nancy, Joe was a valued member of the St. Aidan’s NS community over many years. Countless former pupils will have happy memories of school tours, trips to matches etc safely transported with Joe at the wheel and his daily school runs were equally reliable.
Joe brightened up many a day with his wit and wry comment.
