Mary Daly nee Lyons,

Westport Road, Castlebar and late of Cloonacastle, Ballinrobe - peacefully at home surrounded by her heartbroken family on June 18th 2022.

Predeceased by her beloved husband Tom, darling son Tom Jnr., brothers Pat, Seamus, John and Tom.

Cherished former Home Economics teacher (ex. Cathal Brugha street), greatly missed by her sons Seamus and Pat, her daughters Máire, Anne, Dympna, Ellen and Alice, sons-in-law John and Dónal, daughters-in-law Mary and Isobel, Ellen’s partner Chris and her twelve much loved grand-children, Conor, Ronan, Amy, David, Tom, Aoife, Lorna, Daniel, Niamh, Liam, Jack and Tom.

Deeply regretted by her sisters Breege O’ Donnell (Longford) and Lena Mc Nicholas (Kilmaine), sister-in-law Mary Lyons, brother-in-law Mattie and her beloved nieces and nephews.

Greatly missed by wonderful neighbours and friends, including those in the Castlebar Active Retirement Association.

Rest in Peace Mary

Remains reposing at Coady’s Funeral Home, Castlebar on Monday from 5.30pm until 7.00pm, with removal on Tuesday at 1.30pm for Funeral Mass at 2.00pm in the Church of the Holy Rosary, Castlebar. 

Mary will be laid to rest afterwards in Castlebar New Cemetery.

House strictly private.

My condolences to all of Mary's sons daughters and Grandchildren and extended Daly and Lyons Families on the sad loss of your beloved Mother Mother-in-law and Grandmother. Mrs Daly as she was to me when she taught me Home Economics in St. Joseph's The Lawn in the 1970s. She was a very pleasant caring and kind lady as a teacher and we remained friends and had a chat when ever we met in town down the years. May Mary rest in eternal peace reunited with her loved ones gone before her in the arms of our Lord and his blessed Mother now in her heavenly home.
