‘Tower House’, Rathlee, Easkey, Co. Sligo - unexpectedly at her residence in the loving care of her family.    

Predeceased by her beloved husband Tom, parents Martin & Aggie and baby sister Martina.

Beloved mother of Martina, Deirdre, Lorraine, Fiona, Kieran, Aileen and Veronica.

Deeply regretted and dearly missed by her loving daughters and son, loving grandchildren Aaron, Alice and Emily, mother-in-law to Alan, Brian and Paddy, loving sister to Celia, Mary, Annie, Pauline, Marty, Patrick and Michéal, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends.

May Her Gentle Soul Rest In Peace.

Reposing at McGowan's Funeral Home, Ballina on Saturday from 4pm with removal at 6pm to arrive to the Star of the Sea Church, Rathlee at 7pm.

Mass of the Resurrection on Sunday afternoon at 1pm with burial afterwards to Roslea Cemetery, Easkey.

Family flowers only. Donations if desired to Rheumatology Department, Our Lady's Hospital, Manorhamilton, c/o McGowan’s Funeral Directors.

My sincere Condolences to the Cowley Family: I feel quite fortunate to have met Kathleen and Tom on my first trip to Sligo in 1994 with my late husband Tom. The two shared special memories of my parents’ earlier visits. I was also glad to have met several daughters and granddaughter Alice. Kathleen in later years, even tho growing more infirmed, still had the kettle on and biscuits on the kitchen table! She was always a grand hostess ~and recounting history of the Tower as I sat mesmerized by tales of my Irish family. Kathleen was the anchor of her family: I also know that she was dearly loved and cared for by her children. She will indeed be missed….but according to St John Chrysotom, “Those whom we love and lose are no longer where they were before : they are now wherever we are.”
