Bridie Dowd nee Ruane

Sheepwalk, Frenchpark, Co. Roscommon and formerly Rinnaney, Foxford, Co. Mayo – peacefully at Mayo University Hospital. April 14th, 2022.

Predeceased by her husband Joe and son Joe.

Sadly missed and remembered with love by her family, sons Kevin (Nevada), Denis (New York), Brendan and Raymond, daughters Irene (London), Rita (New Zealand) and Deirdre (Galway), her twenty-one grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, brothers Martin and Peter and sisters Nellie, Mary, Tina, Rita and Kathleen and sons-in-law Lee and Mark, daughters-in-law Phyllis, Terri, Sarah and Teresa, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends.

May Her Gentle Soul Rest in Peace

Bridie will repose in her home on Monday from 2pm until 8pm. (Eircode F45 K068).

Removal on Tuesday morning at 11am to St. Asicus’ Church, Frenchpark arriving for Mass of the Resurrection at 11.30am, followed by interment in Cloonshanville cemetery.

In light of the ongoing dangers associated with Covid 19, it is respectfully requested that all those attending the funeral would adhere to social distancing guidelines, wear a face mask and avoid shaking hands.

Sending love and prayers to all of my dear cousins. Your Mom, was a sweet, wonderful, amazing woman. Aunt Bridie and Uncle Joe were my Godmother and Godfather. I have such fond memories of your Mom’s gentle kindness to me when I was a little boy, before she and Uncle Joe returned to Ireland.
