Martin (better known as Matt) Gill,
Kilsallagh, Westport - peacefully at his home in the loving care of his family on 10th April 2022.
Predeceased by his parents Sarah and Martin (Murrisk).
Dearly loved husband of Beatrice nee Kilcoyne and loving father of Maria Gill (Galway), Caroline Lilly (Dublin) and Sarah Burke (Oranmore, Galway), adored grandad of Martin, Clodagh and Ellie.
He will be sadly missed by his loving wife, daughters, grandchildren, sons-in-law David Burke and Conor Lilly, brothers Austin (Murrisk), Tom (Murrisk) and Seamus (Westport), his sisters Sal Kilcoyne (Claremorris), Anne Dunne (Carrowkennedy, Westport), Maureen Sheridan (Newport), brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, many good friends and the extended Gill and Kilcoyne families.
Matt recently celebrated his 70th birthday. He was an accomplished motor mechanic and started his working life in Tim Hastings garage Westport. He later worked in Allergan Pharmaceuticals and more recently in Nomadic, Louisburgh where he was held in high regard by his work colleagues. He had a great interest in vintage machinery and spent many happy hours working on vintage cars. Matt was well known and his happy disposition endeared him to the many people he encountered over the years.

Matt will repose in Murrisk Community Centre on Tuesday, 12th April from 5pm with removal at 7pm to St. Patrick's Church, Lecanvey.
Funeral Mass on Wednesday at 12.30pm followed by private cremation later.

All the Gill family on such a loss. I have the most wonderful memories of Matt as a young girls when we would go most Sundays to pick up Marty with my Dad Frank to walk the land in Lecanvy and Matt would always have a lovely word for me as a young girl. May he test in peace
