Meike Blackwell,

Ross House, Kilmeena, Westport, Co. Mayo and formerly of Chicago, USA and Detmold, Germany (died 18th March 2022) - peacefully after a long illness surrounded by family and friends.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Major Joseph Blackwell.

Survived by her sister Karin (Hamburg, Germany), she will be sadly missed by her loving son Alex Blackwell and daughter Kirstin MacDonagh, stepchildren Chris Blackwell, Aileen Blackwell and Edie Cummings, and grandson Cormac MacDonagh, partners, daughter-in-law, sons-in-law, beloved extended family, neighbours and wide circle of friends.

May she rest in eternal peace.

Funeral Service will take place on Monday (March 21st) at 2:00pm in The Holy Trinity Church, Westport with the funeral proceeding to Lakelands Crematorium for Cremation Service at 6:00pm.

Meike's Cremation Service will be live streamed at 6:00pm on www.lakelandscrematorium.ie using the password LFH. 

No flowers by request. Donations if desired to Pieta House c/o McGing Funeral Directors, Westport.

My mother’s family The Shiels worked in Ross house in the 1920’s. She loved it there, and told us many story’s as we were growing up. I was lucky enough to meet Meike a couple of times. A lovely woman.
