Christina Millett nee Byrne

Spencer Park, Castlebar, Co. Mayo.

October 28th 2021- peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family.

Deeply regretted by her loving husband Gerry of 61 years and her devoted children Declan (Cork), Siobhán (Castlebar), Paul (Boston ), Alan (Maynooth) and Marina (Curran, Terenure), daughters-in-law Karen and Maeve, son-in-law Tom, 10 grandchildren (Suzanne, Johnathan, Christopher, Joseph, Laura, Ruth, Deirdre, Emily, Thomas and Rachel), sister Teresa (Byrne, Dublin), brothers and sisters-in-law and her many nephews, nieces, neighbours and friends.

Rest in Peace Christina

Remains reposing at Coady's Funeral home, this Sunday evening at 5.30 with removal at 7 o’clock to her residence in Spencer park, Castlebar.

Funeral cortege will arrive at the Church of the Holy Rosary, Castlebar on Monday morning at 11.45 for funeral Mass at 12 noon. Christina will be laid to rest afterwards in Castlebar New cemetery.

House private by request. Family flowers only, donations if desired to the Irish Cancer Society.

Eleanor and I have been neighbour's of Chris for 50 Years. Both Chris and Gerry, and Family have been not alone great neighbours but good friends. Always on hand if required.Chris loved her golf , Bridge,tennis the cup of tea after mass with her friends and most of all the walks around Turlough House which she continued to the very last. No matter what she tried in life she was always determined to be successful, and she was. A fighting spirit until the last. During her final few weeks when talking to her, and asking how she was, the answer was always the same, Im fine. She did not want to put her family under any further strain. She was thinking of them not herself. Gerry you will miss her after being together for over 60 years, as the song says its a mighty long time. You can look back at the great times you had together.
