Mai Gaughan (nee Padden),
Drum Hill, Clogher, Belmullet, Co. Mayo and formerly of Barnagh East, Clogher, Belmullet - peacefully at the Belmullet Community Hospital on 8th October 2021.
Predeceased by her husband Michael, her son Raymond, parents Anthony and Annie Padden, brothers Jack and Tony and sister Martina.
She will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by her loving family – Christina (London), Malcolm (Drum Hill), Michael (Drum Hill), Eimear (Kildare), Gerard (Spain), Mary (London) and Geraldine (London), sons in law, daughter in law, grandchildren Paul, Clare, Shannon, Honor, Emma, Eddie and Seán, adored great grandchild Nevaeh, sister Anne (London), brother in law, nephews, nieces, relatives and many friends.
Remains will repose at her residence on Sunday from 3 o’clock until 6 o’clock
House private at all other times please.
Funeral will arrive at St. Brendan’s Church, Tirrane on Monday for Funeral Mass at 3 o’clock followed by burial in Emlybeg Cemetery, Belmullet.
Family flowers only please, donations in lieu if desired to the “Belmullet Community Hospital”, c/o McDonnell Funeral Directors, Belmullet.

Live streaming of the Funeral Mass will be available for viewing at 3 o’clock on Monday morning on McDonnell Funeral Directors Facebook page with all other funeral services available for viewing at 10 o’clock on Monday evening.
In keeping with current Government advice and H.S.E. guidelines regarding public gatherings, Mai’s Funeral Mass and funeral services will be for family, relatives, close friends and neighbours with a maximum of fifty percent of the Church’s capacity in attendance at Funeral Mass.
For those who would like to pay their respects as the funeral cortege passes through the villages enroute to the church and cemetery on Monday, please stand in a socially distanced manner on the roadsides, outside the church and cemetery, ensuring public health and safety is being upheld to the highest standard. The Gaughan family appreciate your understanding at this difficult time.
Memorial Mass for Mai will be held at a later date. For those who cannot attend the funeral due to the restrictions, please leave a personal message for the family on the condolence form on this webpage.
