Details

The death has occurred peacefully in Cuan Chaitriona Nursing Home,  Castlebar  on 23rd July in the loving care of his family and the staff of Cuan Chaitriona Nursing Home,  Castlebar of Michael Cleary,  102 McHale Road,  Castlebar.

Predeceased by his parents Elizabeth and Thomas and his loving wife Kathleen (nee Mannion),  his brothers Jimmy, Johnny, Maity (Martin) and his sister Mary. He will be sadly missed by his sons Tom, Michael,  John   (Australia) and his daughter Virginia,  his brother Tom (Australia) his ten adored grandchildren,  daughters-in-law, nephews, nieces, cousins, relatives,  all the family circle, neighbours and friends.

 

In his younger days Michael worked in the Old Castlebar Bacon factory.  He also worked for some time as a hospital porter in Mayo University Hospital and he also worked for a number of years in Travenol now Baxter.

Michael was a keen photographer.  He also reared budgies and his pride and joy was his dog Patch.  He was a big Man United fan.

The family would like to express their special appreciation and thanks to the nurses and staff of Cuan Chaitriona Nursing Home and especially to his carers from Home Instead,   Mylene and Sunbu  and also to his GP Dr. Brid O'Malley.  The family will be forever grateful to his neighbours and friends on McHale Road.

Reposing at Kilcoynes Funeral Home, Thomas Street, Castlebar on Wednesday morning July 28th from 9.45 with removal at 10.45 to the Church of the Holy Rosary, Castlebar via McHale Road, arriving for Funeral Mass at 11.30.  Afterwards Michael will be laid to rest with his beloved wife Kathleen in the New Cemetery, Castlebar.
