Vincent Paul Long,

Barnatra, Ballina, Co. Mayo and formerly of New Jersey, USA - suddenly at his residence in Barnatra on Sunday the 20th of June 2021.

Predeceased by his parents Elizabeth and Maurice Long, his brothers David, Micheal and Joseph.

Vincent will be sadly missed by his daughter Frederica, son-in-law Damien, granddaughters Phoebe and Roxanne (Felixstowe, England), his brother Robert, sisters-in-law Janine and Barbara (USA), cousins Tom McDonnell and his wife Mary (USA), Tom McDonnell and his wife Eithne and family (Dublin), extended relatives, nieces, nephews, neighbours and friends in Barnatra and the USA.

May Vincent’s Kind and Gentle Soul Rest In Peace

Remains will repose at Healy’s Funeral Home, Barnatra on Thursday morning, the 8th of July from 10am until 11am.

Funeral Cortege will depart from Healy’s Funeral Home, Barnatra on Thursday, the 8th of July, at 11:30am to arrive at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Glencastle for Funeral Mass at 12 noon.

Interment will take place afterwards in Glencastle New Cemetery.

Streaming of Vincent’s funeral services will be available for viewing on Healy’s Funeral Directors Facebook Page on Thursday evening.

Due to H.S.E guidelines and restrictions Vincent’s funeral will be private for family, close friends and neighbours with a maximum of 50 people permitted in the church and at all funeral services.

A memorial Mass for the repose of Vincent’s soul will be held at a later date which will be announced in due course.

I remember vacationing in Europe and meeting up with Vince. I believe at the time he had a Triump which I talked him into letting me drive. He didn’t know I didn’t drive a stick! Back in the US, he would come up to Pennsylvania and take my Uncle Francis out for a FEW drinks and I would join them (trouble would ensue). I, along with my brothers and sisters, remember with great fondness our trips to Palmyra, NJ visiting Aunt Lizzie, the Longs and the Zincs. Vince, Rest In Peace. To his family, my condolences and know that he was loved and will be remembered with a toast, a smile and a tear.
