Rory O'Connor,

Pontoon and Main Street, Castlebar and late of Charlestown - 3rd May, 2021 - suddenly after a short illness.

Deeply regretted by his loving son Roddy, daughter-in-law Niamh, granddaughter Eliza, brother Barry (Sligo), sister Patricia Nowlan (Kildare), nieces, nephews and brother-in-law, William. Roddy’s Mother, Angela (Castlebar), close friend Pippa, colleagues, neighbours, and many friends.

Rest in Peace

Removal from Coady’s funeral home this Friday morning at 11am for Funeral Mass at 11.30am in The Church of the Holy Rosary, Castlebar.

Rory will be laid to rest afterwards in Gurteen Cemetery, Roundstone.

Due to the HSE and Government guidelines the funeral at all stages will be private for family only.

The Funeral Mass can be listened to in Castlebar on Castlebar Parish Radio 105.3 FM or viewed on www.churchtv.ie/castlebar

Sincere sympathy to the O Connor family on death of your lovely dad and brother. Rory was my first boss started working for him n Castlebar when I was 18. He was so decent and kind. I loved my time working n Garavan and O Connor. We had a special bond as he came from Charlestown. I made great friends n the office and to this day we are friends. Rory had great staff some of whom are with him over 40 years . My sympathies really go out to his staff also as I know they are heartbroken. Castle bar will never be the same without Rory to call in to for a chat. He loved Charlestown and it’s people and always came back for funerals. Rory I will miss our phone conversations and calling to the office. Rest easy my dear friend. I will miss you forever. Rip.
