Patrick (better known as Paddy) Browne,
Derrycourane, Islandeady, Castlebar - peacefully in the loving care of the staff of St. Brendan's Nursing Home, Mulranny in his 94th year.
Dearly loved husband of the late Norah nee Maher and brother of the late John (Charles Street, Castlebar) and the late Mary Walsh (Cloggernagh, Islandeady).
He will be sadly missed by his loving son Padraic, daughter-in-law Vanessa (nee McCormack) and his adored grandchildren Cormac and Caden, his nieces Teresa and Bernadette, nephew Eamon, cousins, relatives, neighbours and many friends.
May his gentle soul rest in peace.
Removal from the Kilcoyne Funeral Home, Thomas Street, Castlebar on Wednesday at 10.15am via Newport Road and Derrycourane arriving at St. Patrick's Church, Islandeady for Funeral Mass at 11.00am, after which Paddy will be laid to rest with his beloved wife Norah in Islandeady Cemetery.
In his younger days Paddy worked with the Connaught Telegraph Newspaper, Castlebar and also with the Irish Press Newspaper. In later years he worked with the Inland Fisheries Board. Paddy had many and varied interests. He was a well known historian and also a water diviner.

I got to know Paddy during my beloved Dad's (Michael Gielty R.I.P.) short stay in St. Brendans in Mulranny last year. He was such a lovely gentleman who always took time to chat to myself and my family.
