Ann Joan Costello nee Diamond

Maryville, Dillon Terrace, Ballina, Co. Mayo  & The Heath, Circular Road, Galway.

Leaving Galway to arrive at St. Muredach's Cathedral, Ballina on Monday 5th April for Requiem Mass at 1.30 p.m.

This Mass will be celebrated privately and social distancing is encouraged by those attending the Church, outside the Church and at the cemetery in keeping with current Covid-19 restrictions. 

Joan will be laid to rest following Mass in Leigue Cemetery.    

Family flowers only by request please.

“Love God and love your neighbour” were the words by which dear aunt Joan lived. She had a long, faithful life of service to God, her community and family. She helped our grandmother housekeep for Fr. Mark, her brother in every new parish to which he was assigned and later on married Tom Costello with whom she was very happy. When Tom died, she helped and supported Canon Mark once again well into his retirement. They were known for a very hospitable welcome helped by Auntie Joan’s newly baked brown bread or slice of apple pie.
We have a very special debt of gratitude to Mary, Des, Ronan and Gavin with whom she lived for many, very happy years also to Evelyn, Piaras, Michael, Marie and their families who lovingly cared for Joan. Sincere sympathy to all who loved our precious aunt Joan and mourn her loss.
Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her. May she rest in peace.
