Mary Kate Groarke,

Deeply regretted by her loving sons Michael, Francie, Thomas and Vincent, her daughters Delia, Marian and Christina, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. 

May her gentle soul rest in peace.

Funeral will arrive in All Saints Church, Killasser this Wednesday evening at 7.45.

Mass on Thursday at 12 o'clock with burial afterwards in Killasser Cemetery. 

In accordance with Government / HSE guidelines and in the interest of public health, Funeral at all stages will be private for family only.

Mass can be viewed on www.mcnmedia.tv

I first met Mary Kate in 1976 when on a visit with a friend, Steve. She had befriended our former high school teacher, Jack Brett, who came home for summers. I visited several times over the years, whenever I would visit him. Mary Kate was a warm, gentle soul who always offered acceptance and hospitality. She was wise and knew the right thing to say to make you feel at ease and welcome. Mary Kate died on the anniversary of the death of our good friend, Jack, and I am comforted knowing that a friendly visage was there to welcome her in to the heavenly kingdom. I will miss you, Mary Kate, but am thankful for all the love you brought into this world.

Very sad to know that Mary Kate Is no longer with us. I enjoyed her company and friendship for so long. She was very generous and had a big heart. Delia Francie and John Groarke took great care of her. She was a treasure that they all guarded very well. It was a great privilege for me to visit Mary Kate and give her the sacraments for four years and to be there when she passed away. She touched so many people’s lives that many people will miss her greatly. I will miss her sorely myself. We all have fond memories of her and of time spent with her.
She gave a great welcome to all who called to the house and no one left her home hungry or sad.
May the Lord wipe away all the tears from her family’s eyes. Mary is in heaven now with all those she knew and loved.
I extend sympathy to her children her grand children and her great great grandchildren. We all were blessed to have known her and to have spent time in her company. May her gentle fun loving soul rest in the peace of Christ !
