Michael Morley,

Cloontooa, Claremorris, Co. Mayo (9th March 2021) - peacefully at home surrounded by his loving wife and family.

Michael will be sadly missed by his devoted wife Ellen. brothers Peter, John and Luke, sisters Nora and Mary, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, his aunt Nora (Staunton), nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, cousins relatives, cherished neighbours and friends.

Michael’s funeral cortege will leave his home on Friday (12th March) for Funeral Mass in St Colman’s Church, Claremorris at 1p.m. (via Brickens and Ballyhaunis Road, Claremorris).

Burial afterwards in St Colman’s Cemetery Claremorris.

“Ar Dheis De go raibh a anam dilis.”

Due to current Government best practice guidelines, the funeral is for family members only (maximum of 10 people only in the Church.

Please observe social distancing at all times while the funeral cortege is on its route.

His funeral Mass can be viewed on You Tube, Claremorris Church live and will be also relayed on the local Parish Church radio on 106FM.

The family would like to thank you for your understanding at this very difficult time.

I knew him for many years from swimming in Blackrock and was deeply saddened to hear he had
passed away. Regardless of how crowded the place was, we would never
leave without saying hello to one another. He was a good friend and a truly
nice man. I will sorely miss seeing his smiling presence sitting on the seat with a cup of tea
in his hand, before taking to the water again for his second swim of the day. RIP old friend.

My friend for over forty years and teammate in countless quizzes in venues too numerous to mention. Michael was the mainstay of our team in Scor. His knowledge of matters GAA was unequalled as was his grasp of Irish history and geography and indeed many other subjects. A genuine all-rounder with a wide range of interests. Above all he was a true friend. We will miss him and the brainstorming sessions in Cloontooa. Rest in peace old friend.
