Mary Monaghan née Gaughan,

Glosh, Clogher, Belmullet, Co. Mayo and formerly of Tarmon, Blacksod - peacefully in her 103rd Year at the Belmullet Community Hospital on 8th March 2021.

Predeceased by her husband Pat, sons John, Seamus and Infant Michael, sisters Bridgie and brothers Willie, Michael, John, Patrick and Marty.

She will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by her loving daughters Mary Conroy (London) and Annie Hughes (London), sons in law Patrick Conroy and Martin Hughes, sister Ellen (London), cherished grandchildren Julie, Mary, Neil, Helen, Joseph and Sarah, great grandchildren Hannah, Rebecca, Elizabeth, Jack, Sib, Flo and James, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends

Remains will arrive at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Aughleam on Wednesday evening at 7 o’clock.

Funeral Mass on Thursday at 11 o’clock followed by burial in Emlybeg Cemetery.

In keeping with current Government advice and H.S.E. guidelines regarding public gatherings, Mary’s funeral will be private for immediate family only.

After the Funeral Mass, the funeral cortege will travel via Glosh, Faulmore, Blacksod and Aughleam enroute to Emlybeg Cemetery.  For those who would like to pay their respects as the funeral cortege passes through the villages and enroute to the cemetery, please stand in a socially distanced manner on the footpaths, roadsides, outside the church and cemetery ensuring public health and safety is being upheld to the highest standard.

The Monaghan family appreciate your understanding at this difficult time.

Video streaming of the Funeral Mass and all other funeral services for the late Mary Monaghan will be available for viewing on McDonnell Funeral Directors Facebook page on Thursday evening after 6 o’clock. 

Memorial Mass for the soul of Mary will be held at a later date.
