John Joe McGrath,
Rathmorgan and formerly of Edderglen, Bangor Erris, Co. Mayo - peacefully at his residence in his 94th year on 19th February 2021.
Predeceased by his beloved wife Bridget (née Murphy), son Martin, sisters Bridget O’Reilly (London) and Katie Keeneghan (Gortmellia). .
He will be sadly missed and forever remembered by his loving family, Patrick, his sister Sheila (England), John and Stephen (Cavan), daughters in law Bernie and Rose, grandchildren Aishling and her husband Noah, Paul and his partner Alice, Brendan and Seán, Aishling, Seán, Lily-Mae and McKenzie, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and many friends.
Remains will arrive at the Church of Our Lady of Lourdes, Glencastle on Sunday evening at 5 o’clock.
Funeral Mass on Monday at 12 o’clock followed by Burial in Glencastle New Cemetery.
Streaming of all funeral services for the late John Joe McGrath will be available for viewing on the McDonnell Funeral Directors Facebook page from 6 o’clock on Monday evening.
In keeping with current Government advice and H.S.E. guidelines regarding public gatherings, John Joe’s funeral will be private for immediate family only. For those who would like to pay their respects as the funeral cortege passes enroute to the church, please stand in a socially distanced manner on the roadsides, outside the church and cemetery ensuring public health and safety is being upheld to the highest standard. The McGrath family appreciate your understanding at this difficult time.
Memorial Mass for the soul of John Joe will be held at a later date.
