With deep regret we heard the sad news of Sheamus's death on a snowy stormy Winters day. His death evoking many thoughts and cherished memories of O'Duffy's pub on a Saturday night in Louisburgh. As I enter the door clutching a fistful of GAA lottery envelopes Sheamus is perched in his usual corner. His gentle affectionate smile a beacon of welcome. Larkins Beehive in full swing and for a few precious moments time stood still. The music further embellished by a pint of Evelyn's creamy guinness. Johnny Fergus RIP beside me equally enraptured. A lull in the music gives me a quick chat to Sheamus. I get his opinion on the upcoming match with Mayo. Soon its time to move on to Joe Macs ..One last listen at the window to hear his next selection and as the music fades you felt replenished in spirit. Could we not relive one of those nights again . Thank you Sheamus for leaving the USA and coming home to Louisburgh. "Thank you for the music....for giving it to me"

His death evoking many thoughts and fond memories of Duffys pub on a Saturday night..The Louisburgh lottery envelopes in my hand and as I entered the door his lovely gentle smile to greet me. Larkins Beehive in full swing and for them few precious moments time stood still...The music further embellished by a creamy pint of Evelyns guinness...Johnny Fergus RIP beside me with a fist full of biros..A quick talk to Seamus to get his thoughts on Sundays upcoming championship match with Mayo. Soon it was time to move on to Joe Macs. One last listen at the window for a few bars of his next selecton. As the music faded you felt replenished in spirit.. Could we not relive one of those nights again. We had everything and took it all for granted .Thank you Seamus for deciding to come home to Louisburgh. "Thank you for the music.....for giving it to me"...
