Florrie was a dear aunt endowed with some special qualities. Her passing leaves me with some lovely memories. An abiding childhood memory is of excitedly rushing to the front door to welcome her at the start of her regular Christmas visits to London. There she stood, elegantly wrapped in a warm winter coat after the night flight from New York, surrounded by suitcases and that enormous cardboard box bursting with novel presents, unheard of in the UK, for all her nieces and nephews. We knew we were lucky to have Santa and Auntie Florrie. Florrie, rest in Peace. Yours was a life well lived.

Florrie was a wonderful Aunt to me and a great sister to my mother. Growing up in Ireland Florrie's visit's were the highlight of my life as she would always bring me presents the most memorable being a pink watch. Florrie was always well dressed. As a family we have been very privileged that Florrie's job allowed her to travel so much and that we were able to enjoy her company over the years. It is something I will always treasure.

We have wonderful memories of holidays spent in Florida with Florrie. Florrie was always so warm and welcoming. She enjoyed the occasional glass of Zinfadel while we sat out on the balcony in the evening. There was always lots of fun and laughter. We will miss you Florrie. You will always hold a special place in our hearts. God bless you.

I was very sad to hear of auntie Florrie's passing. She was a lovely person and led an interesting life. I will always remember her many visits to the UK. She often came with presents for her nephews and nieces. Once she came with Fred Flintstone and Barney Rubble radios for James and me. And she was always very happy to have guests at her home in Florida. Plus of course she was a great sister, looking after her older brother Thomas towards the end of his life. May she rest in peace.
