James Lavelle (better known as Jim)
Corclough West, Belmullet, Co. Mayo and formerly of Ardoone, Belmullet and Cricklewood, London - peacefully at Mayo University Hospital on 7th February 2021.
Predeceased by his loving wife Ann (née Hickey), son Seamus, son-in-law Charlie Kelly, brother Tom and sister Bridie.
Jim will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his loving family, daughter Ellen Lavelle Larkin and Maria Lavelle, son Martin Lavelle, adored grandchildren Kate, Dan, Lucy and Shay, great grandchildren, brothers Paddy, John, Bernie and Willie, sister Mary Murray, brother-in-law, sisters-in -law, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends.
Remains will leave McDonnell’s Funeral Home, Belmullet on Wednesday morning at 10.30 arriving at the Church of the Holy Family, Carne, Belmullet for Funeral Mass at 11 o’clock. After the Funeral Mass the funeral cortege will travel via Jim’s residence and proceed to Tarmoncarra Cemetery for burial.
Streaming of the Funeral Mass and all funeral services for the late Jim Lavelle will be available for viewing after 5pm on Wednesday on McDonnell Funeral Directors Facebook page.
In keeping with current Government advice and H.S.E. guidelines regarding public gatherings, Jim’s funeral will be private for immediate family only. For those who would like to pay their respects as the funeral cortege passes through the town and enroute to the church, please stand in a socially distanced manner on the streets, roadsides, outside the Church and Cemetery ensuring public health and safety is being upheld to the highest standard.
The Lavelle family appreciate your understanding at this difficult time.
Memorial Mass for the soul of Jim will be held at a later date. For those who cannot attend due to restrictions, please leave a personal message for the family on the condolence link below.
