Fr. Jimmy O’Grady,

Los Angeles, USA and formerly of Carrowena, Killasser, Swinford.

Memorial Mass will take place in the Church of the Visitation, Los Angeles on the 6th of February 2021 at 10 o’clock.

Mass will be held in All Saints Church, Killasser at a later date.

Rev John Durkan
Fr Jimmy was universally loved. He had a generous heart and was a great priest. I met him a number of times and was privileged to be here when we celebrated 50 years of his priesthood in Killasser here. He enjoyed that day very much. A few days later I called to see him. That was the last time I saw him. He knew he might not be able to come back home again. But he was so glad to be on holidays and meet all the family and neighbours. I can imagine all the funeral masses he did over the years and all the many times he spoke of the resurrection of the dead as we priests do. His life and ministry touched so many hearts and lives. He was good at small talk and could talk away with people here about cattle, about a sick dog, he could share a joke and we talked that day about the Mayo team. He said it would be great if Mayo could get to face a team other than Dublin or Kerry in the All Ireland Final. This is precisely what is going to happen this year.
Thanks Fr Jimmy may you rest in peace
