Rita Farrell nee Leonard

Castleteehan, Castlerea, Co. Roscommon. 23rd January 2021. Peacefully surrounded by her devoted husband John and adoring children in the care of the wonderful staff of the Galway Clinic. 

Predeceased by her son-in-law Andrew.

Rita will be sorrowfully missed by her heartbroken husband and best friend John. Ever the loving and devoted mother, she will be eternally missed by her loving children Mary, Kathleen, Sean, David, Audrey, Alma, Hazel and Carol. Rita will be deeply mourned by her brother Tom (USA), sons-in-laws Richard, Fergus, Austin, Patrick, and Enda and daughters-in-law Rena and Mary.
The ever doting Granny, Rita will be cherished forever by her adoring grandchildren Matthew, Samuel, Ann, Sean, Peter, Emma, Ciara, David, John, Grace, Anna, Lucy, Daniel, Ellen and Sadie and great-grandson Charlie. Deeply missed by her nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law, and sisters-in-law, extended family and many, many good friends across the country.

May Her Gentle Soul Rest In Peace.

Due to Government guidelines regarding public gatherings and to protect the most vulnerable in our community a private family funeral will take place.

Rita’s funeral cortege will be leaving her home at 10.15am on Wednesday morning to arrive at St. Patrick’s Church, Castlerea for Mass of the Resurrection at 11 o’clock.

Burial afterwards in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.

Rita's Funeral Mass will be live-streamed on Gaynor’s Funeral Directors Facebook page and can be viewed on Wednesday from 10.50.
House private please respect the wishes of the family at this time.
