David Patrick Shaw-Smith,

Lough Carra, Co Mayo and formerly of Dublin (16th January 2021) - peacefully after a long illness, supported by his family.

Dearly loved and missed by his wife, Sally, all his children, their spouses, grandchildren, extended family, friends and neighbours.

A wonderful father, grandfather and friend.

A brilliant filmmaker, photographer, and archivist of Irish life and crafts.

His warmth, humour, curiosity and enthusiasm enriched all who came to know him, both in person, and through his films. 

Looked after with kindness by all at Friars Lodge Nursing Home.

Private family prayers and burial service will be held on Thursday, 21st January at Burriscarra Abbey.

A celebration of his life will be held at a future date.
