Mary Taylor née Crean,

Killaturley, Swinford, County Mayo and formerly of Castlerea, County Roscommon - peacefully at her residence.

RIP

Deeply regretted by her husband Seamus and will be very sadly missed by her daughters Ann, Lisa and Sharon and her sons Martin, Kevin, Tommy and Kieran.

Also lovingly missed by her adoring 18 grandchildren.

Removal from her residence on Friday morning at 11.30 to Our Lady Help of Christians Church, Swinford for Funeral Mass at 12 noon.

Burial afterwards in Charlestown Cemetery.

Mass is confined to family and close friends.

Family flowers only. Donations if desired to Mayo Palliative Care Team.

Dear Family of Mary. I was very sorry to hear of Mary's death and would like to share 2 memories of Mary with you. I am about 4 years younger than her and grew up in Clooncrawfield, about 2 miles from Mary's home. One morning when Mary was about 10 or 12 year old and I remember catching up to her and some of my brothers on our way to school in Cloonbonniffe as they came across a dead rabbit in the ditch. I remember being struck by how beautiful Mary was with her beautiful blonde hair. I looked with awe at her and thought if only I could be like her and I felt so inferior in the presence of this beauty. Years later I visited her in St. Lukes Hosp when she was having cancer treatment (?25 years ago). I spent the loveliest 2 hours of my life with her and she impressed me hugely by her dignity, warmth, openness, and complete lack of self-pity. There was something about Mary that has always remained with me from those 2 encounters - awestruck, hugely impressed, forever admiring. RIP Mary.
