David Thompson (better known as Davy)

Tirrane, Clogher, Belmullet, Co. Mayo - peacefully at his residence surrounded by his family on 22nd May 2020.

Predeceased by his guardians Margaret and Johnny Gaynard.

Beloved husband of Bridgie (nee Barrett) and dear father of Mary Gaughan (Carne-Nash, Belmullet), Margaret Canning (Tirrane, Clogher, Belmullet), Breege (Aggie) Walsh (Carne-Nash) and Sheila Dalton (Rathcoole, Dublin), adored grandchildren David, Pádraig, Eoin, Christopher, Máire, Jack, Annie, Daithí, Tom, Katie, Michael, David, Meave, Niamh, Louise and Kate, sisters Helen (Florida ,U.S.A.) and Peggy (Ohio, U.S.A.), brothers Victor (Florida, U.S.A.) and Robert (Indiana, U.S.A.), aunts Dot and Daisy (Co. Antrim), sons-in-law Tom, Seán, Michael and Enda, brother-in-law Martin Barrett (Ballymacsheeran, Binghamstown, Belmullet), sisters- in-law Mary Carey (Derryeens, Barnatra) and Mary Barrett (Ballymacsheeran, Binghamstown, Belmullet), nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and many friends.

May His Gentle Soul Rest in Peace.

Funeral will arrive at St. Brendan’s Church, Tirrane on Sunday for Funeral Mass at 12 o’clock followed by burial in Cross Cemetery.

Due to H.S.E guidelines regarding the Corona Virus (Covid –19) Davy’s Funeral will be confined to family.

Your cooperation is greatly appreciated by the Thompson family at this difficult time.

Memorial Mass will be held at a later date for the repose of Davy’s Soul which will be confirmed in due course.
